Fencer excels in national arena

Local fencer, Rona Schröder recently competed in the University Sport South Africa (USSA), an annual event for all Universities to compete in all sporting disciplines. This year the event was hosted by Stellenbosch University.
Rona, who is affiliated with Limpopo Fencing Union represented Pretoria University at the USSA event.
She competed in all events both the individual and Team competitions and did exceptionally well, returning with six Medals.
In the individuals event she obtained a Silver medal for Sabel and Bronze for Epee and Foil. In the teams event she received Gold for Epee, Silver for Sabel and Bronze for Foil.
She was crowned the best lady fencer of the event, and honoured with the most prestigious Trophy that any Fencer can be awarded: “The Master of Arms”.
This is an award presented to a Fencer who obtains Medals in all events relating to all three weapons at a National event.
