As part of the National Youth Development Agency’s (NYDA) partnership with Shonisani “Shabba” Muleya, known as Ashifashabba from Ashifa Entertainment, he visited the Mogalakwena municipality on Monday to shed more light on his project to train 800 young people in filmmaking.
The programme is aimed at ensuring youth with a creative passion are equipped with the necessary skills to become active contributors to the Arts and Culture sector.
After his presentation at the municipality on Ashifashabba said: “The young people of Limpopo -  aged 16 to 35 -  will be empowered with the skills to write movie scripts, operate filmmaking equipment, train actors, promote or distribute their films and finally get their films on many South African television channels.
This is another way to address unemployment amongst the youth and train them in becoming entrepreneurs and artisans by telling rich South African stories. The two weeks training will commence on the second week of April 2013 in Capricorn district then followed by Waterberg district and precede to remaining districts i.e. Sekhukhune, Mopani and Vhembe until the second week of June.
