The new learners settled in quickly for their first day of school at Mokopane Destiny Academy (MDA) situated at the Resource, Equipping and Training (RET) Centre on the corner of Geyser and Fourie Streets.

The school added a Grade R class under the watchful eye of Idalette Botes who will make sure that they use the year to prepare for ‘big school.’ This year’s Grade 1 class was excited about their first day and were quick to show their teacher Heather van Wyk that they were eager to learn.

The school also have four new members of staff this year. They are Annerie Laurens, who will be assisting with mathematics and science; new Grade 4 teacher Pareremoyo Mazarura; Idalette Botes who will teach Grade R; and Renaldo van Wyk, a teacher’s assistant to the Grade 5 class.

The school was founded in 2006 and now caters for Grade R to 12 and also offers the Cambridge international senior qualifications, making it the only private school in the Mokopane-area to offer this sought-after curriculum.
