Afrikaans is Jêm op die tong!

LEPHALALE - Die Engelsmedium-leerders van Laerskool Bosveld Primary het weereens gewys dat hulle nie net Afrikaans as taal magtig is nie, maar hulle ook daarin kan uitleef. Die jaarlikse Afrikaanse Tweede Taalmiddag het op Woensdag 9 Mei plaasgevind waar mede-leerders en personeel getrakteer is met pragtige sang, voordrag toesprake en voorlesings. Altesaam 84 engelsmeduim-leerders van graad 1 tot graad 7 het aan die geleentheid deelgeneem, waarna elke leerder ‘n sertifikaat ontvang het. Die aktiwiteit is juis daarop ingestel om ook die Engelse leerders spesiale geleenhede by Laerskool Bosveld Primary te gee. Hierdie talentvolle Bossies het ‘n besonderse aanleg in Afrikaans en is daar al telkens pragtige terugvoering van buitestanders gekry oor die kinders se puik taalvernuf. - Mercia Joubert (Bo: Die Afrikaanse spreekkoor).

Ouers bloei vir hul kinders

Verlede kwartaal is daar by Laerskool Bosveld Primary ‘n bloedskenkdag gehou. Tydens die dag wou die Bossies poog om 100 eenhede bloed te skenk en die klas wat die meeste ouers het wat bloedskenk sou R4000.00 wen. Die Gr 3WA klas van Wilmien van Greunen se ouers het gesorg dat haar klassie in groot getalle opdaag en die bedrag wen. Me. Van Greunen bedank haar positiewe ouers wat hard gewerk het om genoeg skenkers te kry. Die geld gaan nuttig gebruik word! Laerskool Bosveld Prymary het 119 eenhede bloed geskenk!

LEPHALALE - The National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) believes that the two week lock-out of 700 employees of Murray & Roberts from the Medupi construction site in Lephalale was illegal. Basic Metal and Energy sector coordinator for Numsa, Stephen Nhlapo, told Northern News on Wednesday that although employees were allowed back at work on Monday, the issue has not been resolved. “The dispute has been referred for arbitration and we will continue to submit clear demands to companies like Murray & Roberts and Hitachi.”

Ellisras Hoërskool se eerstespanne was Saterdag erg uitgedun vir wedstryde teen Tom Naude. Sommige matrieks het Potcefstroom Universiteit se opedag gaan bywoon en ander was weg vir netbal en hokkieproewe, maar spanne is volgemaak met jonger spelers wat getoon het dat die skool se sport genoeg diepte het.

MOKOPANE - A group of 3 coaches and 5 gymnasts from Mokopane Gymnastics Club (MGC) recently attended a coaching clinic at Matsport Centre in Pretoria. The purpose of the clinic hosted by SAFG (South African Gymnastics Federation) is to raise the standard of gymnastics in South Africa. Top SAGF coaches transfer their knowledge and practical experience through “practical application”. Marinda Marshall said afterwards the coaches that attended this clinic were equipped with insight and knowledge to improve their skills as gymnastic coaches. “We are excited and enthusiastic about what we have learned. We are always looking for opportunities to improve the service we offer to our community.” The SAGF Top coaches and some of the participants. MGC were represented by: Richard Marshall (MAG Head Coach), Marinda Marshall (WAG Head Coach), Hanell Jansen van Renbsurg (Rythmic Coach) and some of the clubs gymnasts: Josua and Samuel van der Merwe, Suné and Liza Janse van Renbsurg and Shani Dreyer.
