MGC gymnasts shine

The Mokopane Gymnastics Club pushed their gymnasts to perform by entering them into a tough competition featuring various clubs from Limpopo and Gauteng during the recent Eldo Stars gymnastics competition at the Matsport Centre in Centurion the past weekend.

Cross country event a great success

Laerskool Bosveld Primary’s cross country club hosted more than 264 athletes at a cross country event at the Mogol club on Saturday. More than 20 clubs participated in this Limpopo Athletics event, a first for Lephalale. Athletes from all age groups participated in the event and the Bossie athletes ran with gusto. As a result, several Bossies were chosen to compete in this coming Saturday’s Limpopo championship event in Polokwane. Athletes who qualify at this event will join athletes from other provinces at the SA championship in George in September.

Gimnaste werk vir goud

Die Mokopane gimnastiek klub was een van nege klubs van Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng en selfs sovêr as Nigerië, wat aan die TSG gimnastiek kompetisie in Pretoria deelgeneem het verlede Saterdag. Gimnaste van vlak 1 tot 5 het aan die kompetisie, wat deur die Tswane School of Gymnastics aangebied is, deelgeneem. “Die kompetisie is goeie voorbereiding vir die Limpopo’s wat voorlê,” het afrigter Marinda Marshall gesê.

Hoërskool Piet Potgieter wen die Interhoër gholf

Hier is Keagen Ross, Johnty Darvall, afrigter Bradley Pieterse, Cobus van Wyk en SW Bruwer op die gholfbaan. Die C-span van Hoërskool Piet Potgieter het verlede Vrydag op Groblersdal aan die Interhoër gholf deelgeneem. Die seuns het Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer met 35 punte geklop en die Interhoër gholf gewen.

Piet Pot wen Landloop Interhoër

Hoërskool Piet Potgieter het die landloop interhoër gemaklik gewen met 35 punte. Tweede was Hoërskole Ben Viljoen en derde Nylstroom. Die junior seunspan en die senior seunspan wen hul afdelings en ontvang trofeë en goue medaljes. Die senior dogterspan eindig tweede en die junior dogters derde. Hul het onderskeidelik silwer en brons medaljes verwerf. Albert Kgosana en Pontsho Ngobeni het trofeë ontvang vir individuele wenners van die junior seuns- en senior seuns afdelings. Ons spankapteine, Peter Tau en Sulize van Rooyen, het na vyf jaar weer die Interhoërtrofee in ontvangs geneem. Die skool bedank afrigters: Zelda Botes, Patricia Green en Liandra Cilliers. Die Landloop Interhoër wenspan. Katlego Semenya (voor), tweede ry: Kurt Kruger, Gracious Shika, Albert Kgosana, Peter Tau, Sulize van Rooyen, Josia Nyawene, Karabo Maredi. Derde ry: Monique de Sousa, Pontsho Ngobeni, Boka Mahlong, Tshiamo Molala, Shoki Seloana, Sello Nyawene , Michelle Kekana, Tebogo Matlou, Jana-Lené van Eck, SW Bruwer en agter is Laura-Li Cilliers, Simoné Fourie, Gisela Bekker.

Rassies is Limpopo wenners

Hoërskool Ellisras se rugby is hierdie jaar kookwater. Twee van die skool se spanne is aangewys as Limpopo-wenners en dring deur tot die kwart-eindstryd van die Beeld-Trofee. Die Rassies se o/14 en o/16 spanne het Maandagoggend op die maat van “We are the champions” tot voor in die saal gestap met die wete dat hulle die beste in Limpopo is.

Hi-Q Lephalale het hierdie week die Ellisras hokkieklub se damesspan geborg met sportsakke. Die span het hierdie jaar aan die klubliga deelgeneem en baie goed gevaar. Bestuurder van Hi-Q, Werner Erasmus, oorhandig die sakke aan afrigter en kaptein, Debbie Vosloo.

Sowat 40 deelnemers het die jaar ingeskryf vir die Bosveldfees 4x4 kompetisie wat Saterdag op die Mogolklubgronde in Lephalale aangebied is. Die jaarlikse instelling is reeds baie gewild onder viertrek voertuig entoesiaste en deelnemers van sovêr as Botswana, die Vaaldriehoek, Brits en Rustenburg het aan die kompetisie kom deelneem. LSS sponsors hockey team

Lephalale Site Services threw their weight behind the u/12 hockey team of Laerskool Bosveld Primary when they sponsored sports bags and shorts for the team’s hockey tour over the July holiday. Directors, managers and even LSS CEO, Ntombizodwa Masola, met with the learners to wish them all the best. Mogol Parkrun – a popular event in Lephalale

The Mogol Parkrun in Lephalale is going form strength to strength each week. With 91 runners, nine first timers and 37 recorded new personal bests. Saturday’s 5km event was once again a huge success. Mmaphuti Solomon Moruni was first over the line in 17:00. Caleb Khomotso was second with a time of 17:24. David du Plessis of Eskom Athletic Club (Limpopo) was third over the line in 22:15. In the women’s race Benise Geyser of Mogol AC, was first (4th overall) with a time of 22:43. Elzani Davie was second and 7th overall with a time of 24:21. Lizinda Human was third and 8th overall with a time of 24:26. The current standing in the Men’s annual points competition is Mmaphuti Solomon Moruni 400 points. Willem van Rooyen (Mogol AC) with 354 points and Pieter Herbst with 353 points. Current standing in the Women’s annual points competition is Marietjie NEL (Mogol AC) 394 points. Jolande Viljoen (Mogol AC) 389 poits and Anika van Rooyen (Mogol AC) 360 pts.

Die Ellisras Voortrekkers het die afgelope naweek 'n Verkenner kamp in Pretoria bygewoon waar hulle die boogskut-spesialisasie voltooi en sommer baie oor boogskiet en die verskillende tipes boeë geleer het. Daar is selfs geleer hoe om pyle te maak. Op die foto is EHS leerlinge Marisca Thirion en haar neef Floris Thirion.
