Don’t miss Lephalale’s Comrades qualifier

It has been ten years since local long distance runners were able to run a marathon on local soil and the news of a Comrades qualifying event in Lephalale has the town abuzz. 
The event will not only show case local talent, but some of the best runners in South Africa will run the 42km on Saturday 2 August. Rufus Photo who won a gold medal at the Comrades Marathon this year by coming in at 5th place as well as Martinique Potgieter who were the 9th woman to cross the line during this year’s comrades marathon will be runners to watch.
The event is hosted by the Mogol Marathon club in partnership with Exxaro and Lephalale Mall. The start and finish line is the Lephalale Mall and the event will also include a 21km, 10km, a 5km fun run as well as a 420m for children under 10. Registration can be done at the Lephalale Mall on Friday 1 August from 17:00 to 21:00 and on Saturday morning at 05:00.
