Representatives of about 23 villages from Mokopane and Mapela indicated that they were going to participate in a protest march to Anglo Platinum’s Mogalakwena mine where memorandums will be handed to representatives of Anglo Platinum, PlatReef and Lonmin.
At the time of going to print it wasn’t exactly clear what these memorandums would contain, but organisers said they were being supported in their cause by the ANC Youth League.
They even vowed that former Youth League President, Julius Malema, would participate in today’s action. On Wednesday Malema was granted R10 000 bail when he appeared in the Polokwane Regional Court on a charge of money laundering.
The march was scheduled to start at Machikiri at 10:00 today.
