Jobseekers are warned not to fall prey to unscrupulous scammers who pretend to offer job opportunities and then charge an "administration fee" to secure the position.
Several people have already fallen prey to schemes relating to job opportunities at mines in different areas of the country as well as Namibia - only to find out that they have paid an administration fee for a job that does not exist.
Northern News recently received seve-ral calls from people who wanted to submit their CV’s for potential job opportunities at ResGen’s Boikarabello mine outside Lephalale after receiving an sms and bbm text calling for job seekers to apply for the more than 42 000 job opportunities at the mine.
But Rochelle Louw, HR Operational
Readiness Consultant for Resgen’s Boikarabello, says that the mine is not recruiting at the moment.
“We are busy with a skills audit within the local communities in Lephalale and assessing skills currently available locally.”
According to Louw, the company will not accept any CV’s at present, but residents should keep an eye out for advertisements in the local newspapers when the company is ready to start recruiting. Louw also added that the mine will not charge an
administration fee when inviting CV’s.
