15 year sentence for house robbers

Two Zimbabwean nationals were each sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment after they were found guilty on charges of house robbery in the Mokopane Regional Court last week.
The court heard how Malvas Makonese (22) and Big Dora Mabika (29) along with another suspect entered the house of a local resident, tied him up and threatened to stab him with a knife while demanding cash.
They eventually made off with music instruments, a bicycle, clothing and shoes all to the value of R3 950 and some cash. A team of detectives swiftly reacted to the plaintiff’s call and two suspects were
arrested on the spot while one ran away.
