“Don’t let this house make you too proud, treat your neighbours and family with respect and tell people the truth about this house,” Prophet Edward Maruma  advised Alice Kgobe when he handed her the keys to a new house Mahwelereng’s Holiness Revival Centre built for her.
Alice is disabled with three children and was previously staying in a one-roomed RDP house in Ext 17. The church extended the house so that it now comprises two bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining/sitting room and a bathroom with a toilet. The floors are tiled and the house has ceilings as well as a geyser and is fenced for security purposes.
After the special hand-over sermon that was held at the church grounds on Saturday, the congregation, escourted by the local traffic department, a brass band and a team of drum majorettes marched to the house where Prophet Maruma and Mogalakwena mayor, Andries Mashamaite, cut the ribbon and welcomed Alice and her family into their new home.
A family representative for the Kgobe family thanked Prophet Maruma and the Church for the good work they did saying that people used to laugh at Alice, but that she now has a home that will be witnessed by many generations to come. Alice also thanked Prophet Maruma and the church for building her a beautiful house.
