Education MEC boo-ed off stage

Limpopo Education MEC, Dickson Masemola, was boo-ed off the stage as he was being introduced as a VIP at the May day rally in Marapong last Wednesday.
“We are unhappy with him because of the current situation the education
system is in. We wanted him to know that we are unhappy. Some schools still don’t have text books, we want him to do his job properly. The education system is a mess,” said a South African Democratic Teacher’s Union (SADTU) member who wished to remain anonymous.
Some schools in Limpopo were left without textbooks for the first seven months of the 2012 school year, leading to teachers’ union SADTU calling for the resignation of basic education minister, Angie Motshega.
