Two teenage girls were attacked when they walked from the Mogol Club to their home in Bloukweek Street in Onverwacht around 22h00 Saturday evening. The two sisters attended the Bosveldfees and were almost home when a man wielding a knife confronted them. According to the 14-year-old victim, the man told her that “he wanted her”.
She then ran to her house, but fell just before she could reach the door. The man stabbed her eight times in her upper body and legs. She managed to get hold of her cell phone and offered it to him. The man took the cell phone and turned on her sister who he then stabbed in the shoulder. He also took her cell phone before running away. Both girls were treated in hospital and are undergoing counselling. The case is being investigated by the Lephalale police and anyone with information can contact the police station on 014 7621000.
