Recently Marapong soccer team Skimzozo visited Shongoane side Bushbucks with their u/17, first team, and their ladies soccer team.
The first match was between the u/17 sides and 11 goals game out of that match. The game ended in a two all draw by the end of the last whistle. The match then went to penalty shoot were the home team won 4-3. The goals in the full game for Skimzozo came from Edward Kwadi and Goitsimang Morake who rescued Skimzozo leading them to the penalty shootout.
Jan Lebogo score the two goals for Bushbucks all in the first half one from a header which he received the ball from a corner kick and the second goal he shot from a cross bar.
The fist teams took to the field but the game was short of goals in both first and second half. Thapelo Mase brought light to the game when he scored for Skimzozo in the dying minutes of the match. Overall the game was a 50/50 match.
Manare Rantlhakgwe opened the
scoring sheet for Skimzozo when they tackle the ladies of Bucks. Tsietsi Modise didn’t want to be left out when she scored two goals for her team. But the Bucks ladies didn’t feel the pressure as they were fighting tooth and nail, the sister Makie Makgae and Maphiri Makgae netted the two goals of the match for Bucks, but Jequelien Mosima of Skimzozo scored the last goal of the game giving Skimzozo a win.
On Sunday the u/17's took on a newly formed team named Fighters at the Marapong sports ground. Solomon Sepolwane and Berry Molokomme both scored two goals each, as they had Skimzozo boys running after them in the first half. Skimzozo were four goals down when they went to half time but Frans Mokoena didn’t take it lying down, when they returned for the rest of the half, he scored four brilliant goals making him man of the match. Klaas Seodisa and Klaas Phasha helped boost the confidence of Skimzozo when they both netted one goal each, but just as they thought they have the match in the bag Matome Mokgatha and Charles Mokone also scored one goal each making it a 6 all draw. Fighters showed the long standing Skimzozo that they are a force to reckon with in the penalty when they won 5-4.
