She describes herself as a sister, friend, companion and most importantly someone who gives her all to whatever she sets her mind to. Phumzile Moyo (25), a hospitality student whose star is shining bright in the academic arena, was named the highest achieving student on the whole Waterberg FET campus with an A-aggregate for two years running.
The young student plans to study nutrition after completing her practical at the Honey Ball coffee shop where she has been a resident chef for three months.
“It has been a pleasure having her here,” said Sanél Honiball, owner of the Honey Ball.
Phumzile found her culinary passion after she came to Mokopane in 2011 and was inspired by the tranquillity and the Bushveld.
“I see myself working in the Bushveld at a restaurant lodge while studying towards my nutritionist degree in the next couple of years.” she said
The student, who is in her final year of study, says she enjoys studying and always finds the time to do so.
It is very encouraging as an institution to know that there are students who put their studies first, and are willing to thrive at it.” said Tumelo Morobe, marketing manager at Waterberg FET College.
