Another setback for Mashemaite

A court application by Mogalakwena’s former mayor, Thlalefi Mashemaite (photo right) and his right-hand man, Sam Montane, to have their removal from the executive committee overturned failed when their application was struck from the roll and they were ordered to pay the municipality’s legal costs as well as their own last week.
This followed the April 17 council resolution that saw Mashemaite, Montane as well as Sanny Tlhaku, Cllr David Langa, Abram Tsebe and Rahab Lebelo removed from the executive committee. Victor Mashamaite resigned before the resolution. Council resolved to remove all the councilors implicated in the KPMG report as Exco members to be ordinary councilors.
