As more parents prefer to turn to home schooling as they believe it to offer their children the best education opportunities in Limpopo, the concept has really taken off in Mokopane. The Chrysalis Tutor Centre is situated on a small farm just outside town and is run by the highly-qualified principal, Angelique Mostert. This location allows children to learn, have fun and be creative in a healthy environment.
“You can feel the children’s excitement to do the best that they can,” says Mostert. “Their projects are of high quality and creativity.
“History comes alive in their narrations, dress-up days and models of the period they are learning about,” she explains. “They don’t learn from boring textbooks but living books, which bring all their subjects to life.”
This private English-medium tutor centre was founded at the end of 2012 and started in January 2013 with 23 pupils. It caters for parents who desire the intimate environment of home schooling as well as a high academic standard, offering more than just the usual subjects including eco-schools, art, music and MindUp.
Anyone looking for more information can email Angelique Mostert at angiemostert@gmail.com.
