Destiny Alive Church, Compass Academy of Learning and RectorSA will be hosting its second annual Destiny Development Week during 14-18 July at the RET Centre on the corner of Geyser and Fourie Street.
The purpose in presenting Destiny Development Week is to give learners in the Mogalakwena area the opportunity to attend a week of preparation and empowerment. This is achieved through accurate training of life—and academic skills needed to successfully complete their education and progress to further/ tertiary training.
The programme targets Grade 9 learners and hopes to progress them into the ‘JrTukkie’ project at the University Pretoria. Training at Destiny Week is completed in the following areas: Personal Life Skills development; Relationships; Reading and Study Skills; and Basic Personal Finances.
The following secondary schools are represented at the Destiny Week: Gobela High School; John Petro High School; Somavugha High School; Ntata High School; Fred Ledwaba High School; EDL Rampola High School; Ebenezer High School; DG Tsebe High School; Kgaba High School and Ben Hlongwane High School.
Lesedi Kubayi was the only learner eligible for registration with the JrTukkie Program at the University Pretoria. We congratulate her and her family on this achievement and look forward to see her grow in her academic pursuits.
Sponsors of the Destiny Week include: Compass Academy of Learning, LectorSA Reading Solutions Company, Mokopane Gymnastic Club, Destiny Alive Church as well as the facilitators, assistants, and kitchen assistants who volunteered and gave their time, resources and knowledge to equip, train and resource these young men and woman from our communities!.
