Time for rabies vaccination

To protect you and your family, compulsory Rabies vaccinations will be done by Veterinary officials, free of charge. You are requested to present all dogs and cats on your property older than 3 months for this highly important vaccination. Vaccination should be done annually.
Rabies cases still occur on a regular basis in the country and even in our surrounding area. With good support from the public 2898 dogs/cats were vaccinated during 2012 in Mokopane against 1647 in 2010 and 1709 in 2011. For 2013 the number of dogs and cats vaccinated in Mokopane decreased to 2339.
With the support of every animal owner we can improve on this end vaccinate even more dogs and cats against this killer disease this year and in this way strie to eradicate Rabies in our area. For any queries in this regard please contact the local State Vet office at
