Mogalakwena mayor, Malose Mabuela, called on the youth of Mogalakwena to arm themselves with a good education as they prepare for the battle of adult life when he addressed the Youth Day commemoration in Mahwelereng Stadium.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which can be used to change the world and Education is a key to economic emancipation,” he said.
He implored the youth not to get sucked into politics and be used as pawns in community protests for service delivery. “We call on young people to resist this exploitation and to focus on their education and uplifting their lives,” Mabuela said. “There is no better way to confront your challenges than to confront them head on. But you must do this with the purpose of taking all our people out of poverty, inequality and create much needed jobs for them to be economically liberated. Of-course this should be informed by a proper analysis of those challenges and a clear plan on the approach to be undertaken. Most importantly you must be united as young people of all races towards your common goal,” Mabuela advised.
