Lizzy Selaelo Lekoloane believes in the power of education. As a dynamic woman with a solid background in education and a predisposition to FET colleges in general, Lekoloane believes in investing the future for SA’s youth.
Lekoloane has taken the position of college principal at the Waterberg FET College and will take over the management of the three campuses and training schools; the Engineering and Skills Training Centre in Leboakgomo, the Business Studies Centre in Mawhelereng, the IT and Computer Science Centre in Mawhelereng as well as the training sites which includes the Hotel School (hospitality) in Mokopane and the Rooywal Farm (primary agriculture) in Sterkrivier.
Lekoloane takes office from 1 July and takes over the reins from SP Maulula who retired in 2013. “I have always had an affinity for FET colleges in particular and will strive to maximise the use of the current infrastructure to make Waterberg FET College not only the number one college of its kind in Limpopo, but in South Africa,” Lekoloane told staff members and managers at her welcome ceremony on Tuesday at the Hotel School in Mokopane.
At the ceremony, she received a warm welcome from council member Dr. MWB Mohapi, the new deputy principal for academic services, KR Dipela, and HR manager, LF Mpebe. To ease her into her new position, marketing and corporate communications manager, MC Phasha, presented her with a special back pack filled with useful and interesting items, including a diary, a special car charger for her cell phone and even a water bottle to help keep her fit and healthy in her new position.
