The Thula Thula Baba Baby House had a corporate tea to celebrate Mandela day on 18 July. The management used the opportunity to educate local businesses about the baby house and what it aims to achieve.
Thula Thula was established to see to the care and welfare of abandoned babies in the Mokopane community. It can’t be run without the generous sponsors and volunteers. The corporate tea was aimed at sharing the community spirit with companies and businesses in and around town, without whom Thula Thula Baba/Baby house would not be able to care for these babies.
“We would like to thank the staff at Thula Thula, volunteers and committee members who run the baby house without payment, for the community for always giving, for all those who gave time or baby supplies, everybody who attended the tea,” said Thula Thula Baba/Baby House’s Hilary Knight.
She quoted Nelson Mandela: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
A big thank you to the businesses from our community who attended the tea; DIY Depot, SAPS, E-42, Auditor General, Pick ’n Pay, Anglo, VR Mining, Platreef Mining, Moordrift Dairy, Komaru, Cross Border Road Transport Agency and Prominent Paints. They all came with a gift and support for Thula Thula Baba baby house.
Thula Thula is always in need of consumable goods like nappies, purity, baby cereal or porridge to help little babies grow. Any and all donations received will be greatly appreciated.
