“The academy has trained 3000 students in eight years and will continue to expand its education and training courses,” says Principal Elaine Jansen van Rensburg.
The Academy was established due to the demand for quality, professional education and training in Mokopane. Courses offered are nationally recognised. “Our training staff are qualified and registered with the relevant SETA as trainers and assessors,” says Elaine, adding that they have practical experience of assessments and they are used to training and assessing learners in their field of expertise.
The Academy offers courses for, among others, nursery school educators, quality management systems and training for skills development facilitators. Elaine is excited about the new courses being introduced for Theology (NQF 2 and 4). Other additional courses include first aid, tourism, nature conservation, hospitality and agriculture. At the official opening of the new premises, Minda Marshall, one of the founders of the Compass Academy said that the new building will allow for even better training. She thanked Elaine for the hours and efforts put in to help build the academy.
