Killed over parking bay

Zanele Buthelezi (23) was released on R2000 bail after she appeared in the Lephalale magistrate’s court for allegedly shooting and killing Mpho Setshwaro (29) after an altercation over a parking bay at Kloppenheim Estate on Saturday evening.
It started when Buthelezi and her boyfriend came home on Saturday to find another vehicle parked in their allocated parking bay.
She apparently got out and asked the other driver (Setshwaro) to move his car. When he refused, her boyfriend allegedly got out, with a pistol in his hand and confronted the other driver.
A fight ensued and Buthelezi saw her boyfriend lying on the ground and later told police that she assumed he was dead.
She then got hold of the firearm and allegedly shot Setshwaro through the neck and right arm. The shots were fatal.
Police arrived on the scene where they arrested Buthelezi. Her friend was taken to hospital, he was discharged on Wednesday.
Buthelezi will appear in court again on
30 October.
