Northern News visited a sewage plant in Mokopane on Monday after an unbearable stench for a considerable time raised questions in Chroompark.
Disturbing proof was found at a sewage plant, South-West of town right next to the Nyl river on Monday. Raw sewage is visibly flowing from the plant, directly into the Nyl river. The Nyl, which becomes the Mogalakwena further North is an important water source for the villages to the North-West of Mokopane. People use the water to irrigate their crops and for their cattle. Northern News contacted the Mogalakwena Municipality for comment on this matter but did not received any response before going to print on Wednesday.
