The Waterberg TVET College opened its new Central Office on 1 December 2014. The Central Office building was the vision of the previous principal of the college, SP Mailula. Mailula cut the ribbon at the entrance of the building to mark the first step of the college in achieving its vision.
Mailula emphasizes that the road to success is not by taking the lift, but doing everything step-by-step.
“The college achieved the first step of its vision, and now it is the responsibility of all staff members and students to take the rest of the steps to ensure that together the college reached its set goals”.
The building project started on 19 September 2012. The team responsible for steering and driving this building project were MEG Architects, KC Maiwashe (Principal Agent and Quantity Surveyor) and Matakanye Construction. The Techical Advisor for the College was Van Veenhuysen from S de Jongh and Co. The new building provides space for more than 53 staff members with two boardrooms and a training room. College principal SE Lekolane indicated during a breakfast at the Hotel School, after a tour through the building, that one of the boardrooms will be named after Mailula.
The new building is located at the corner of Totius and Hooge Streets, next to the Waterberg TVET College Hotel School. The entrance to the building is in Hooge Street.
The college is proud to showcase the beautiful designed building and make special mention of the special glass lift attached to the building that will enable disabled customers unrestricted access to the building.
