Col. Mogwaneng off to Giyani

MOKOPANE -Being promoted to the rank of Brigadier, Mokopane station commander, Col. Lucas Mogwaneng will probably be remembered for failing to implement several High Court orders to remove illegal ANC occupiers of the Mogalakwena municipality rather than his successes in the battle against drug dealing and abuse in Mokopane.
With many ‘drug lords’ apprehended under his watch still serving sentences, Mogwaneng feels he has dealt with the town’s crime problem ‘decisively’. He, however concedes that the Mogalakwena Municipality and a possible taxi feud remain outstanding problems.
Mogwaneng was promoted to the rank of Brigadier on 1 December and will be taking command of Giyani police station.
