Gordhan aims restore municipality

The minister of co-operative governance and traditional affairs (COGHSTA), Pravin Gordhan visited the Mogalakwena Municipality on Wednesday to address an angry community and meet with council.
Gordhan was accompanied by COGHSTA's porvincial MEC, Makoma Makhurupetje's. Gordhan spoke to members of the community who demanded that stability to be restored at the municipality where, according to them, chaos has reigned since November last year.
Gordhan vowed to restore service delivery to the good levels residents had become accustomed to in the past. "We will try to reconcile the different views and encourage everybody to return to work. We will take whatever action is necessary to ensure compliance with the law,” Gordhan said.
