Elco Steel Express now also in Mokopane

Elco Steel Express, a well-known and respected South African family-run business is one of Gauteng’s largest private steel companies has now also opened a branch in Mokopane.
Stefano D’Arrigo, co-owner of Elco Steel tells the interesting story that lies behind their company’s success:
From humble beginnings, 40 years ago, Giacomo D’Arrigo started in the steel trade.
“I call it serendipity, arriving by chance in a fortuitous place,” says Stefano.
“My dad was running a trading store in the veld when a truck carrying steel overturned. My dad then bought the damaged steel and tried to re-sell it for a profit. This turned out to be very successful and thus the start of Elco Steel dealers in Springs.”
From only a couple lengths of steel and a handful of workers, with the help of my mom, Kathleen and my dad’s brother Salvatore, or better known as Sam… the “steel” rollercoaster began,” Stefano adds.
Over the years, with a lot of blood, sweat and tears, or better described by their dad, it is 10% capital and 90% guts that continue Elco Steel dealers to grow from strength to strength.
Stefano again points to their dad and says his help and guidance influenced his kids into taking Elco Steel further by branching out the dealership. Mpumalanga and Limpopo boast with Elco Steel branches in Hazyview and now in Mokopane. Elco Steel Express is situated in 34 Brahman Street, in Mokopane’s industrial area.
The company undertakes to replicate their code of ethics into their new branches, which mean excellent service with affordable prices, honest business ethics and going the extra mile to get stock even if it is not stocked. “With these ethics and a strong leader and mentor like my dad, our new ventures should be here for another 40 years.” concludes Stefano.
