Municipal 'intervention team' appointed

 

An intervention team appointed by Pravin Gordhan, minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) to act as mediator between the Mogalakwena Municipality and its employees. MOKOPANE - During a meeting on Wednesday, municipal workers at the Mogalakwena municipality were introduced to an 'intervention team', believed to be appointed by Pravin Gordhan, minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) to mediate between the municipality and its employees.
The team was introduced by acting municipal manager, Phuledi Selepe, who explained that their role would be to understand what has happened at the municipality to cause the turmoil, the reason behind it and the way forward.
Malepa informed employees that Tokiso Consulting would be consulting with municipal officials and union leadership to try to reinstate service delivery and smooth operation of the municipality in the next two weeks. Malepa informed employees that a mediation process would follow.
