Man dies in gruesome accident

SHONGOANE – A man died after three vehicles were involved in a gruesome accident on the Marken road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Reports show that the driver of a Renault sedan apparently bumped into the back of a Volkswagen Polo while driving. The driver (of the Renault) then swerved and collided with an oncoming Toyota Hilux with four occupants.
Two men, a woman and a child were trapped inside the Hilux, but were freed by passers-by. They managed to free the driver of the Renault before it ignited, but he died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Polo also pulled over after the accident, but he only sustained minor injuries.
According to W/O Frans Mokoena of the Lephalale police it is suspected that the Renault was a rented car with registration BF 34 PV GP. Everything in the vehicle was burnt beyond recognition and police ask that anyone who can assist them with identification of the driver, please make contact with them.
