MOKOPANE - Two of the three suspects in the Fatana murder case will again appear the Mokopane Magistrate Court on 15 June as their application for bail continues. They are Charles Mogale (45) and Thabo Alfred Matlaila (30), both from Hospital View.
Gideon Fatana, a taxi owner of Mokopane, was shot and killed at his house in Mokopane earlier this year in an assassination-style murder. Mogale and Matlaila were arrested shortly after the shooting.
In a surprising twist, a third accused, Desmond Machaba (48), was added to suspect line-up. Machaba is also a suspect in the murder of Charles Mgidi, owner of a driving school in Mahwelereng, who died after being shot at a local filling station.
Machaba was arrested shortly after the second shooting and is now the third suspect in the Fatana murder case.
Machaba was expected to apply for bail last week but it is believed his bail in the Fatana case was not considered as the Magistrate in the Mgidi murder case denied him bail.
The suspects remain in police custody.
