PHAHLADIRA – A planned complex in this area will provide at least 350 permanent jobs once completed in September 2016.
The mayor of Lephalale, Jack Maeko (photo right), attended a sod turning event for the proposed Phahladira Town Centre, 43km North East of Lephalale on the R518 last week.
The planned complex will provide
60 000 residents in this district with much needed retail facilities. Phase 1 of the new development will comprise of a 7000m2 complex, anchored by a 2800m² Shoprite Supermarket.
Fernridge research indicates that there is R16-million groceries-spend in this node, but that the nearest supermarket is 40km away. Phahladira Town Centre will cater to this underserved catchment area, addressing food, fashion and furniture needs in the area; and saving residents significant transport costs.
In additional to the recreational benefits the construction of the Phahladira Town Centre complex will also translate into job opportunities for local residents.
