ZEBEDIELA – The 23-year-old Mmatema Moremi from Zebediela has made it to the Top Eight in this year’s season 11 of South African Idols competition.
Moremi’s most recent performance on stage was Brenda Fassie’s “weekend special”.
In her biography on the Idols website, Moremi is described as an individual who lives a full life. “ It’s a wonder that she even found the time to enter Idols SA at all,” they say. Mmatema is qualified as a professional linguist and she speaks four languages. “I translated in court cases sometimes,” she explains. “And I’m a marketing assistant and I work for my church on the side.” But for now Idols SA is her sole focus. Mmatema was part of the group that wowed the judges with their performance of TLC’s “Creep at Sun City and with her solo performance of Demi Lovato’s “Scyscraper” she proved that that was no fluke.
Mmatema’s Facebook page on Tuesday night reads: “From the bottom of my heart once again thank you for your time, efforts, airtime, phones, tablets, laptops, and most of all the love to vote for me in this round. Because of you I hope to sing on Sunday, and trust me I won’t let you down!! May the Lord bless you and your family.”
