DA takes Ward 32

MOKOPANE -  The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) reports that the Democratic Alliance (DA) won the only ward contested in  the Limpopo by-election which took place on November 18. Yolande Coetzee is the new councillor in Ward 32 in the Mogalakwena Municipality. The seat was retained by the party wity 43.45% of the total votes cast. Voter turnout was 31.32%, reports the IEC. The Freedom Front Plus achieved 31.95% of the votes, while the African National Congress secured 24.6% of the votes. The detailed results are available on the IEC web site at www.elections.org.za.
