MOKOPANE – The suspects in the Charles Mgidi and Gideon Fatana murder cases seem to be stuck in jail until their trial, which has been referred to the Polokwane High Court in May and June next year.
It has already been more than seven months in jail for Samuel Matjila, Patrick Sehku, Thabo Matalaila and Charles Mogale since their arrest for the murder of Fatana, who was shot and killed at his house earlier this year followed by Mgidi’s murder only days thereafter.
The postponement was decided in the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court last week Thursday.
However, it will be a third bail application attempt for Matjila and Sekhu on 21 December when they will be re-applying for bail based on new facts that might prove exceptional circumstances.
They are expected to stand trial from 3 to 13 May and Matlaila and Mogale’s trial is set for 31 May to 10 June.
