MOSHATE - Members of Mahwelereng police and some community members of Moshate and Sekgakgapheng have on Monday afternoon recovered the body of a 34-year-old man who drowned in the Ngwaditse River last week Friday.
According to the information received, Lesiba Phillip Seanego (34) fell in the river and was swept away by the water while he was in company of his two friends. This tragedy occurred after heavy rainfall. It is alleged that the trio were crossing the bridge when Seanego met his untimely death.
A mass search for the body started on Friday and continued until it was recovered on Monday.
Prior to the recovery, the Mogala-kwena Mayor, Parks Sebatjane and other delegates visited the scene of the incident and the Seanego family.
After the recovery of the body Sebatjane also addressed community members and thanked them for tirelessly working with the search team. He called on members of the community to be vigilant at times of raging storm water and encouraged parents to warn children not to cross or play near rivers for their own safety.
