MOKOPANE – A new suspect in the Mgidi/Fatana murder has been arrested and
appeared in the Mokopane magistrate court last week.
The 35-year-old man's involvement in the case is not clear yet as he will only be served with an indictment at his next appearance on 25 February.
The man did not ask for bail and will be held along with five suspects already facing charges for the murder of Charles Mgidi and Gideon Fatana.
Mgidi and Fatana were killed in Mokopane last year. Mgidi was killed at a filling station in Mokopane only days after Gideon Fatana, a taxi owner, was gunned down at his house in Fourie Street.
The man appeared before magistrate Analies Swanepoel who indicated that his case might be transferred to the Polokwane high court where the Fatana and Mgidi trials are set for respectively 3 to 13 May and 31 May to 10 June.
