Rape case: Court awaits evidence

MOKOPANE – The two suspects accused of raping and robbing a woman (55) at Die Stop restaurant, south of Mokopane, last year's appeared in the Mokopane magistrate court on Monday.
The charge of rape against them is pending as the court is awaiting DNA test results for the victim, sergeant Irene Masingi, spokesperson of the Mokopane police station, said.
The victim was overpowered by two unknown men after locking up the restaurant. She was walking to her cottage when the incident occurred. One of the suspects forced her into her cottage where he raped her while the other suspect stole cash and goods from the restaurant. 
Lucky Sithole (32) and Joseph Moyo (23) remain in police custody as they are also suspects in various cases that occurred between October to November last year. They are linked to cases varying from possession of suspected stolen property and house breaking and theft. They are expected to appear in court again on 14 April.
