MOKOPANE – Taxi boss Samuel Matjila appeared in the Mokerong magistrate court in Mahwelereng along with his co-accused, Samuel Tshilambamvhau, last week Friday following the alleged assassination of Danny Baloyi in 2004.
Baloyi was shot and killed 12 years ago in what was believed to be an assassination. The main suspect in this case is Samuel Tshilambamvhua, but Samuel Matjila, the owner of a fleet of taxi’s in Mahwelereng, was recently implicated as a suspect.
Tshilambamvhua was granted bail of R3000 and Matjila will remain in custody for his alleged involvement in two other high profile murder cases (Gideon Fatana and Charles Mgidi) the trial of which is set for respectively 3 to 13 May and 31 May to 10 June. Tshilambamvhua and Matjila are expected to appear in the Mokerong court on 24 March.
