MARAPONG – Well-known television presenter and national celebrity, Gerry Rantseli Elsdon, was one of the speakers at a dialogue session with students at Thielelo school about tuberculosis (TB) at an event last Tuesday.
Rantseli Elsdon has spoken about her journey with TB on many previous occasions but on Tuesday the gorgeous celeb opened her heart to a small group of students from local schools.
“I was diagnosed with TB in 2002 when I tried to fall pregnant through in vitro insemination,” she informed the learners.
“Young people should realise how important it is to be tested regularly for this disease especially if they know somebody or has been in contact with somebody who has TB.”
Rantseli Elsdon also encouraged girls to be careful when they get involved with a sexual partner to protect themselves from HIV and Aids.
“I heard that young girls don’t talk about sugar daddies anymore; these days they are called ‘blessers’,” she said to loud laughter from the students.
“Girls should respect themselves enough to realise that these older men are not contributing anything towards their growth and should keep themselves healthy.”
