MOGALAKWENA - Water shortages have been an ongoing challenge in several villages in the Mogalakwena area.
In a bid to tackle the infrastructure challenges and to curb water shortages, the Mogalakwena Municipality has purchased four water tanker trucks to supply water, a tractor loader backhoe and a grader to maintain the roads and for storm water management. The municipality covers Mokopane town and 179 villages in a radius of more than 150 km around it.
Mogalakwena mayor, Parks Sebatjane, emphasised that the purchase of the R6 million water tanker trucks will go a long way towards ensuring the municipality serves communities better and has the capacity to deal with the water crisis, while plans for a long-term solution is in the pipeline.
