Man falls to his death at Medupi project

LEPHALALE – A man, working as a pipefitter at the Medupi power station, died after he fell 63m from the Unit three boiler at the site on Tuesday.
Eskom issued a statement confirming the incident in which Croatian national, Adam Grgic, who worked for IDS Industry Service and Plant Construction South Africa, a sub-contractor of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa, died.
A full investigation into the incident where Grgic fell from the 63m level to ground level at around 09:00 on Tuesday is being conducted in conjunction with relevant authorities. 
Eskom and its Project contractors have called for safety stand downs and will implement a programme of re-inductions and safety training before getting the construction employees back to work.
