MOGALAKWENA – Two men from Mokopane were arrested after they were caught in Polokwane with the severed head of an unknown woman wrapped in newspaper on Sunday. The following day (Monday) one of the men allegedly led police to a a bridge in Mapela - the headless body of a woman was found under the bridge.
The two men, respectively from Mapela and Mahwelereng outside Mokopane, were arrested after police received information about people selling body parts in Polokwane. The men were caught after police set a trap for them. The head was found along with a man’s genitals inside the white Ford Ranger the suspects were travelling in.
Constable Sello Leso, police spokesperson of Mahwelereng police station, confirmed that one of the suspects took police to the scene where the body was found. Police can, however, not confirm if the body belongs to the same victim whose head was found until forensic tests have been done.
