MAPELA – A house belonging to the parents of one of the suspects who were arrested for the possession of human body parts recently was set on fire over the weekend. Mahwelereng police spokesperson constable Sello Leso says they are investigating a case of arson.
Two men, aged 35 and 50, from Mokopane were arrested after they were caught in Polokwane with the severed head of an unknown woman wrapped in newspaper about a week ago. The following day one of the men led police to a bridge in Mapela - the headless body of a woman was found under the bridge.
The two men, respectively from Mapela and Mahwelereng outside Mokopane, were arrested after police received information about people selling body parts in Polokwane. The men were caught after police set a trap for them. The head was found along with a man’s genitals inside the white Ford Ranger the suspects were travelling in.
The two men are appearing in the Polokwane high court today. No arrests in connection with the arson case have been made. Police suspect community members taking revenge.
