LEPHALALE – A man who allegedly abducted a 17-year-old girl in Polokwane before taking her to Ga-Seleka where he allegedly raped her repeatedly was arrested by the Lephalale police on Monday.
The Lephalale police’s warrant officer Frans Mokoena says the man approached the girl in Polokwane and told her that he was the official chauffeur of a high ranking municipal official from Lephalale.
“He supposedly asked her to show him around Polokwane, because he did not know the area well but drove her to Ga-Seleka where he allegedly raped her in an open field and again later at his house situated in the area.”
The man was arrested by Lephalale detectives and appeared in the Lephalale magistrate court where it was found that he has been arrested on two similar cases where young women claimed that he raped them last year after they accepted lifts in his.
The investigation is ongoing and it has not been confirmed if the suspect is indeed a municipal chauffeur as he allegedly told the victim.
