MARAPONG – The Lephalale police are appealing to members of the community to be on the lookout for a blue BMW with registration number FF90XC GP that was stolen during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to Lephalale police's warrant officer Frans Mokoena the owner of the vehicle parked his car in front of his house in Marapong Extension one when he went to sleep at about 23:00 on Monday night. “The owner was awoken by his father who wanted to know where the car was the next morning at about 05:00.”
The owner allegedly put his car keys under his pillow when he went to sleep but when he woke up the keys were gone and it seemed like somebody forced a window at the front of the house open in order to gain access into the house. This is the second case of this nature in Marapong where the keys was stolen from the house before the vehicle was taken but the police were unable to confirm whether the cases could be linked to the same suspect. “A case of theft of motor vehicle was opened and we are investigating,” said Mokoena.
