MOKOPANE - The two men who were arrested for possession of human body parts in Polokwane last month appeared in the Mokerong magistrate court on 5 August. Their bail hearing was set for 11 August.
The two men, respectively from Mapela and Mahwelereng outside Mokopane, were arrested after they were caught in Market Street in Polokwane with the severed head of an unknown woman wrapped in newspaper. The following day one of the men led police to a bridge in Mapela - the headless body of a woman was found under the bridge.
The two men were arrested after police received a tip off about people selling body parts in Polokwane and a trap was set by police. The head was found along with a man’s genitals inside the white Ford Ranger the suspects were travelling in.
The two men initially appeared in the Polokwane high court where their case was transferred to the Mokerong magistrate court.
