Armed robbers targeted female business owners on their way to or from the bank for the second time within a period of four days this week.

Armed suspects in a white BMW robbed a business woman and fled with an undisclosed cash amount in front of First National Bank in Retief Street on Thursday morning. Witnesses claim that there were three suspects involved and that shots were fired.

This is the second time since Monday that a business owner fell victim to an armed robbery at a bank. The first incident took place at the Mokopane Mall on Monday when a woman and her colleague were on their way to bank money at Standard Bank.

Northern News was unable to confirm Thursday’s incident as Mokopane police spokesperson, sergeant Irene Masingi was in a meeting at the time and did not give any feedback.
