Hilton Rampedi, Polokwane customer relations manager for Eskom said that the new connections at Ga-Madiba will decrease disasters like shack and house fires and change the residents' lifestyles.
Eskom urges its new customers to be on the lookout for illegal connections and those who would tamper with meters. "These are criminal acts which rob communities of a stable electricity supply. Should the community witness such acts, we urge them to send an anonymous SMS to crime line on 32211 to report them."
For any other electricity related enquiries, the public should call the Eskom contact centre on 08600 37566.
