ANC regional leader found not guilty

MOKOPANE - ANC Waterberg Regional Secretary, Tolly Mashamaite, faced the Mokopane regional court today on charges of rape and bribery. He was however found not guilty.
A fully packed court witnessed the verdict of the 40-year-old Mashamaite who was accused of raping and bribing a 33-year-old woman at the Park Hotel in April this year.
A woman claiming to be the victim was disguised as she approached the witness stand.
Magistrate Gerhard Pretorius ordered everyone to wait outside the courtroom while she testified to protect her identity.
